A quick and rough overpaint of what should be done with the power armor, although i've taken a few too many liberties with it and now it kinda looks like robocop :/
The guidelines to follow, should you wish to mod that piece of high tech disappointment, are as follows:
-Reduce the size of the helmet. As is, it looks more like a mascot, and the oversized head gives the wearer the proportions of a child.
-Thicker Gauntlets, or hands better integrated with the armlets.
-Accented shoulder area, (that is, on the arms, not the pauldrons) to provide the illusion of a broad frame.
-Rear Neck armor should go as far to protect the back of the head, giving a slightly hunched over look.
-Raise the kneepads, if not the knees themselves. The current placement tends to give off the illusion that the wearer has small shins.
-PROPERLY separate the relevant elements of the armor, either with plate seams or differently colored parts.
Optionals:
-Flatten the chest piece.
-Integrate the pauldrons with the chest piece, or remove them entirely.
Actually, the t-45d power armor makes the wearer like a canned food, the armor plates didn't cover the fusion reactor and it would be a deadly weak point for the wearer. And the t-51b is really a protective power armor and is the most advanced power armor before the war. But their design is really not my cup of tea so I really like the enclave power armer. But your redesign makes the t-45d looks great, I like it. It's really cool.
Not quite there, but twice as far as Bethesda's armor. Proportions are not perfect, but good work!!! (someone has to show all these Fallout 3 fans what is what)

Groovy.
