SSE Diplomacy Art 01: Geneva by IgnusDei SSE Diplomacy Art 01: Geneva by IgnusDei
The Geneva class heavy cruiser, initially a testbed for a new generation of warship, was retooled as a diplomatic envoyship, sheltering diplomats and VIPs across space in the comfort and safety of 1250mm thick layered armor.

One of the two designs i did for the new Sins of a Solar Empire expansion pack, Diplomacy.

This design is perfect. It looks so urbanistic. The house like a machine. Really beautiful :]

The styling is very reminiscent of that used on Galactic Empire warships from the series "Legend of Galactic Heroes".

Nice job!

It technically first appeared in the expansion prior to Rebellion, Diplomacy (featured primarily in the combo pack Trinity). It's the Neruda Envoy used by the Trader Emergency Coalition. Rebellion features all previous content of the Sins of a Solar Empire franchise, so, of course, it also has this ship, in addition to all the new Rebellion content, as well. The starbases (like the TEC Argonev) were first introduced with Entrenchment, for instance, while Rebellion added the ability for certain TEC players (who choose Loyalist) to build two starbases in a single gravity well, given that the right technology is unlocked.

I assume it was originally called the Geneva early in development..? The artist also mentioned that it's from Diplomacy in the description. Nobody reads descriptions.

Cool, free google sketchup or one of the real sketchup series? I've been trying to use the free google sketchup but it doesn't have a lot of options, so I slip back into Maya lol

Nice, did you do this all straight in photoshop or are the lines done as traditional lines first?

basic 3d model, then i drew the lines over a printout with a micron pigma pen, then scanned the lineart in photoshop for coloring.

One incredibly cool ship!
Is it just me, or does the engine nacelle layout resemble that used on the new Battlestar Galactica?
