I think its great but a little big for a Crisis suit, it looks more dreadnought scale but design wise its really cool. I've always thought the regular crisis suits looked cack, the forgeworld ones are so much better but even they could use a little tinkering, taking them more along the lines of the landmates in Appleseed. Any plans to continue the revamp?
Nice. I always thought the GW Crisis Suit was plug-ugly and needs a serious design overhaul. Instead we got... new Stealthsuits. *grumble* Anyway, this its a nice anime-ish style, which was what was originally intended with the Tau.
It reminds me of a cross of metal gear rex and an armored core mech, don't know if thats what you were going for but it looks cool anyway!
(why isn't it blowing up that marine or the marine shooting it?)
Great idea; looks alot smoother, though i think the original looks 'chunky' cos it's supposed to mimick the basic soldier armour look, and to distance it from vehicles. The original was apparently based around the samuari (the tau are the oriental themed army) and that's where all the armour plates and bulky feel comes from.
i don't dislike the designs because they're chunky and blocky, i dislike them because they're really not that well designed or look that good. Compare them to mechs in Front Mission, or Heavy Gear, and you'll see my point.
AH yes, you're right; They could've done alot better. But I suppose they had technical issues like ease of manufacture and assembly and all that crap, so Yeah, fair nuff. The vehicles are pretty cool for tau tho, a lot like your concept. Um.. less the hand
Nice Simple enough design but nice elegant lines. I dig the cockpit/torso. I don't know enough about the Tau to know what their design philosophies might be but I might try moving rockets over the shoulder and freeing up the arm for a second hand/manipulator. A cool sketch and hella better than the silly figures you're redesigning, HELLA better !
